I loved it, but I just could not give it another heart, because I just thought there were tiny bits I did not care that much for. Overall A Thousand Pieces of You is great. But that is just a thing on the side that worked in the favor of this book. I am usually not the one for falling for a beautiful cover, but I just loved this one (and of the other series). I also wish there was more on Paul in Russia, because I thought this was the most interesting part of him. Paul is an interesting character, but he is not as developed as the main character. Maybe except for the fact that he kept pushing Marguerite to distrust Paul each time she told him Paul as trustworthy. I felt the entire novel like he was the one ruining Marguerite’s life at the beginning of the novel, which made me feel weird because there were no reasons on why he would be. I liked the world of Firebird and the different universes Marguerite ends up in.įrom the beginning Theo rubbed me the wrong way. I give A Thousand Pieces of You four out of five hearts. And soon she discovers the truth behind her father’s death is far more sinister than she expected.

Before long she begins to question Paul’s guilt-as well as her own heart. But she also meets alternate versions of the people she knows-including Paul, whose life entangles with hers in increasingly familiar ways. So she races after Paul through different universes, always leaping into another version of herself. Marguerite refuses to let the man who destroyed her family go free. But then Marguerite’s father is murdered, and the killer-her parent’s handsome, enigmatic assistant Paul- escapes into another dimension before the law can touch him. Their most astonishing invention, called the Firebird, allows users to jump into multiple universes-and promises to revolutionize science forever. Marguerite Caine’s physicist parents are known for their groundbreaking achievements.
